Global Data Skills Workshop

Project Purpose

Provide principles-based data trainings complemented by hands-on learning with analytics software most commonly used by Missions (Excel, Tableau, R)

Assisted in planning vision for all software tracks
Planned a weeks worth of training material on R, data viz principles, custom R packages, and workflows
Designed each concept as a small session with interactive exercises to reinforce the material just learned
Created how-to guides and outreach material in advance of training
Developed easy to follow along slide decks to teach from and for participants to return back to
Interspersed presentation from mission colleague to show how they were using the software

Capacitated over a dozen colleagues on using R for data analysis and data vizualization
Improved understanding of data viz principles for over 60 participants
Created a forum of mission R users for future
